Language:
Language is a very important piece to any educational setting. In this space a variety of reading materials are made available to the children. Photographs with text are also placed on the walls are their height to make viewing more comfortable. |
Creativity:
Teachers plan activities for the children to explore the world around them. |
Exploration:
Spending time in the fresh air is very important. We take our little ones out each day the weather permits. We have a play area on site and on warmer days will take strollers out on the track located in the rear of the building. |
Music & Movement:
What is better than making our own sounds! This space is equipped with various materials for "making music"! |
What are Pods?
Pods are our version of "stations" for little ones. They are different areas of the room that are set up with materials for the child to explore. For instance, one pod may have items that make sound while another could be set up with books and a variety of photographs.
There are four components to our Infant program:
**All of the materials in this space are placed in baskets and bins to allow the child to choose what they want.
*** Any toys that are mouthed are removed from the space cleaned and sanitized before another child plays with it.

Parent Communication:
Our program uses Tadpoles! This allows us to not only record your child's daily activities such as nap, meals and what they played with but also has an option for us to attach photos and video right to the sheet! at the end of each day, your child's daily report is emailed directly to your inbox. Not only is the information confidential but convenient!
Infant Meals:
EMLC, Inc. will provide all infants with Gerber Good Start (GGS) or Similac Soy (SS) formula and baby food while in our care. Parents are more than welcome to use a different brand of formula or breast milk for their child. If anything other than the GGS/SS is used, we simply ask that you supply it. As your child reaches 6 months and 1 year, the food program lays out the next stages of food appropriate for your child. At each milestone, your child's teacher will review the appropriate form with you and ask that you sign for what you child will be served while in our care. As your child tries new foods at home we will ask that you update this form. Although we will provide the foods for your child, we ask that they try them at home with you first.
Supply List for Infants:
*Families are asked to supply the items listed
- Pacifier (if your child uses one)
- 3 Bottles (these are brought in each day and sent home at night to be cleaned)
- 3 Complete change of clothes appropriate for current weather
